Dr. Bitzos is an American-Board Certified Plastic Surgeon specializing in Cosmetic Surgery of the face and breast. Dr. Bitzos was raised in New York and was educated at leading academic medical institutions of the United States. His surgical training started at Tufts Medical School and was completed at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago and Rutgers University. He became fully trained in General Surgery and then fully trained in Plastic, Aesthetic & Reconstructive Surgery. During his higher training in both specialties he served as the Chief Resident of all trainees. His Aesthetic Surgery training was done in New York by world-leading experts in the field and he received specialised training in microsurgery at Columbia University in New York. After he completed his training he worked academically as a Clinical Instructor teaching reconstructive surgery while running a busy aesthetic private practice in the New York metropolitan area. Dr. Spyros A. Lazarou, MD, has been practicing plastic surgery, craniomaxillofacial and reconstructive surgery for over 20 years and has operated on over 1000 clefts. He received his bachelor’s degree from Johns Hopkins University and continued with a master’s degree at the University of Maryland. He then trained in General Surgery at the Sinai Hospital and Johns Hopkins University. This was followed by a three-year specialization in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Norfolk, Virginia and further specialization in Craniomaxillofacial Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh. He has published chapters in books and research papers and has presented and published various innovations in plastic surgery, mainly in the treatment of pediatric clefts.

Dr. Glavas is the founder and Director of the Massachusetts Eye Plastic Surgery & Laser Center located in Boston’s Newbury Street. Dr. Glavas is an internationally known physician who has been trained as both an eye plastic surgeon (oculoplastic – orbital surgeon) and as a cosmetic surgeon. He has published numerous reviews and research articles in major scientific journals. He also has written several book chapters. After Medical School, he worked as a Research fellow at Harvard Medical School. He then completed his Surgical internship at Tufts and then his residency training at the New York University Medical School and the Manhattan Eye Ear and Throat Hospital in New York. He then completed an Oculo-facial plastics fellowship with Stephen Bosniak, MD at the Manhattan Eye Ear Throat Hospital and then a second Oculo-facial plastics fellowship at the New England Eye Center / Tufts Medical School in Boston. Dr. Glavas is an Assistant Clinical Professor at New York university School of Medicine. He is academically active by attending the oculoplastic clinic at Manhattan Eye Ear and Throat Hospital in New York and presenting instructional courses for physicians at international and national meetings. Dr. Ioannis Ratopoulos graduated from the Medical School of Thessaloniki and was then fully trained in the U.S. in the specialty of General Surgery at the University of Illinois in Chicago. During the course of his training he completed his Ph.D. He then specialized in Laparoscopic and Obesity Surgery at the WestPenn-Allegheny Health System in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania and was then admitted to the University of Pittsburgh in the Department of Laparoscopic and Obesity Surgery as a salaried Assistant Professor. He remained there for four years and then moved to the University of Connecticut as a salaried Associate Professor, taking over the creation and management of the Obesity Surgery Department of Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center. After 6.5 years in the position and a total of 17.5 years in the USA, he began to actively operate in Greece taking over the Directorship of the Department of Obesity Surgery of Metropolitan hospital in Athens. During his 17-year tenure in the US he has performed over 6,000 operations, most of which focus on Laparoscopic Obesity Surgery. Since 2005 he holds the title of Excellence in Obesity Surgery “Center of Excellence Surgeon” from the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery which is the most important title in the world of clinical experience and excellent clinical results in the field of Obesity Surgery. He also holds an active medical license in the State of Massachusetts, USA.

Dr. Iosifina Giannakikou received her undergraduate medical training at Guy’s and St. Thomas Medical and Dental Schools / King’s College in London, where she graduated with distinctions/honors. After completing her Internal Medicine training at University of Maryland, Baltimore, Dr Giannakikou trained in Anesthesia at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. During her senior resident year she specialized in Critical Care Anesthesia. She subsequently completed a fellowship program in Critical Care Medicine, also at Johns Hopkins Hospital. She is currently working in private practice and still continues to be an active staff at the Johns Hopkins Hospital by working part-time at their Department of Anesthesia and Critical Care Medicine as both an anesthesiologist and an intensivist.

She has held a position as an Instructor at Harvard Medical School and is currently the Chief of Endocrinology & Nutrition at Hygeia General Hospital.
